We all take our feet for granted but when things go wrong, foot problems along with the associated pain impacts greatly on our day to day activities. Chiropodists/Podiatrists can assess, diagnose and treat problems of the foot and advise on foot health and self care. Good foot care is vital and is an important factor in staying mobile as we get older.
“What is the difference between a chiropodist and podiatrist?”
Basically the title podiatrist is a globally recognised term which has replaced the old term chiropodist. Although, as the name has changed the scope of practice has increased, many podiatrists specialise in certain areas of foot care such as the diabetic foot, musculoskeletal podiatry or nail surgery.
